Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officers had a busy weekend after two separate traffic stops resulted in significant amounts of drugs removed and repeat offenders in custody.
A 30-year-old Milwaukee man, currently out on parole for burglary and auto theft with a pending court appearance on fentanyl charges was taken into custody after K-9 Officer Rip alerted deputies to the presence of drugs. A search during Friday night’s incident revealed a magnetic box hidden in the engine compartment, filled with a large quantity of fentanyl pills. The operator is awaiting charges in the Fond du Lac county Jail.
A second, separate traffic stop was done after deputies observed a driver operating left of center. The approaching officer saw a baggie with crack cocaine in plain view. The 47-year-old driver from Milwaukee was detained as a further search turned up a bag of marijuana, 12 bindles of crack cocaine ready for sale, and 12 ecstasy pills. That driver had three previous arrests for possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and now faces additional charges as he awaits in jail pending his next court appearance.
