Regina K Ellinger, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center
Sheboygan. She was surrounded by loving family and friends. She was a devoted wife to Gary R Ellinger,
her husband of 49 years, and a dedicated mother to her two sons, Anthony and Steven.
One of three sisters, Regina was born to the late Olive (Robson) and Francis Buschmann in Sheboygan on
March 15th, 1949. She is survived by her husband Gary and sons Anthony and Steven. She is also
survived by the families of her sisters: Fran Matelko and Debra Graf. She was loved by her childhood and
lifelong friends Judy Sonneman, Jackie Elsesser, Rene Butzen, and Linda Herber.
She attended North High School and graduated in the class of 1967. She became a licensed Barbering
Cosmetology Practitioner and worked several local salons including Regis and Cut-Rite. She found joy in
sharing stories with her clients.
She was a creative person and enjoyed music, crafts, and dancing. She especially loved the music of the
Supremes and other Motown groups of the 60s. She was an avid viewer of All My Children. Her love of
science fiction and stories led her to introduce her sons to Dr Who and Star Trek. She would later add
Jurassic Park, How to Train Your Dragon, Naruto, and Harry Potter to her favorites. They shared many
hours enjoying movies and paranormal shows. She enjoyed bowling, crafting, puzzles, singing, and
camping with her family.
The family would like to thank the amazing nursing staff at Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan for all the
care, compassion, and support they gave Regina and her family.
We would also like to thank the Lilly Cares Foundation, which assisted with insulin and medication costs
for many years.
The family will gather with relatives and friends on Friday, January 26, 2023 from 12:00pm-12:30pm in
the chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Ave, Kohler, WI 53044. Prayers at 12:30pm, urn
burial will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sheboygan Humane Society in Regina’s name.
