More than a half-dozen departments responded to an apartment fire on Oakdale Court in the Town of Sheboygan yesterday afternoon.
The fire was reported just before 1 p.m. Upon arrival crews discovered a porch on the second floor fully engulfed in flames, and had begun to spread into the apartment and attic space.
The building was evacuated, and there were no reported injuries from the fire, which did about $100,000 in damage. The cause of the fire was improperly discarded smoking materials, and the Red Cross is assisting the residents that were displaced.
