The Wisconsin DNR has made the 2024 State Park and Forest annual admission stickers and trail passes available as of today. In the interests of those who’d like to give those as gifts, the DNR recommends that purchases be made by Friday, December 8th in order to receive them before the holidays.
A vehicle admission sticker provides access to more than 60 state parks, forests and recreation areas across Wisconsin. In and near Sheboygan County, those include Kohler-Andrae State Park, Harrington Beach State Park, and the Northern Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest, as well as the Fischer Creek State Recreation Area and Point Beach State Forest in Manitowoc County. Numerous smaller recreation areas also dot the map, and the stickers provide access statewide.
Recent changes now allow admission beginning on the date of purchase until the end of 2024. A state trail pass is required for anyone 16 or older biking, in-line skating, horseback riding, cross-country skiing or off-highway motorcycling on specific state trails, but no pass is required for hiking.
The annual vehicle admission sticker costs $28 for Wisconsin residents or $38 for non-residents. An additional sticker for a vehicle registered to the same household can be gotten for $15.50 for residents and $20.50 for non-residents. For senior citizens (65 or older) the annual sticker is $13. Annual trail passes cost $25 across-the-board.
