Although the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has officially announced that its 2023 project schedule is complete – at least in Sheboygan County – there are some jobs still to be finished. The I-43 and I-41 projects from Ozaukee and Washington Counties on southward won’t be complete until next year, and so travelers using those routes can expect project-related traffic controls to be in place, although typically projects are paused during the heavy Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
Closer to home, crews from the Wisconsin DOT will be surveying along westbound Highway 23 between Hillside road and County Highway “M” on Wednesday, November 22 between 8 and 10 a.m. The operation will require that one lane be closed during those times.
As always, the DOT reminds drivers to operate with caution in work areas, and obey speed restrictions in work zones. Those restrictions apply whether there are crews on-site or not, and speeding can mean double the fines if you’re caught.
