MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers’ season is over.
The Crew fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 Wednesday night at American Family Field as Arizona swept the Wild Card round.
Freddy Peralta got the loss after giving up four runs over five innings. Sal Frelick and Willy Adames each drove in runs during the first inning, but the D-Backs held Milwaukee scoreless over the final eight frames. It was a familiar feeling as Arizona managed to hold the Brew Crew scoreless over the last seven innings in Game One.
Zac Gallen earned the win on the mound after allowing two runs over six innings of work. Alek Thomas homered and Ketel Marte plated two runs for Arizona.
The Brewers bow out of the playoffs despite winning the NL Central with a 92-70 record and entering the playoffs as the NL’s third seed.
