MANITOWOC, WI (WHBL) – A Manitowoc mom is heading to prison for beating her two-year-old son to death.
A judge on Tuesday sentenced Rena Santiago to 15 years in prison. She pleaded no contest to killing her son, Gilbert Grant the Second, in April of 2019. She told police she beat the little boy because he would not take a nap.
Santiago’s roommate is also serving a prison sentence for abusing the boy in the months leading up to his death.
