PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Pittsburgh Pirates edged the Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 in their series opener from PNC Park on Monday.
Ke’Bryan Hayes launched a go-ahead homer in the fifth inning while Andrew McCutchen added another run on an RBI double.
Corbin Burnes got the loss after giving up all four runs over six innings.
Milwaukee fell to 76-61 and is still first in the NL Central with a two and a half game lead over the Cubs.
The series continues Tuesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 5pm.
