MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The number of COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin intensive care units passed 100 on Monday.
That updated count came as the state confirmed 703 new cases of the illness caused by the new coronavirus. That was 10.1% of the 6,992 total test results reported in a 24-hour period. Those numbers were all slightly lower than the totals reported on Sunday.
Two new deaths were reported on Monday, bringing the total in Wisconsin to 846 since the pandemic began.
The state Department of Health Services says there have been 43,018 cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin and 737,191 negative tests. DHS considers 33,130 people to have recovered from the illness.
Of the 1,271 ventilators in Wisconsin, 291 were in use on Monday, two more than on Sunday.
Of the 11,412 total hospital beds in the state, 2,933 were available on Monday.
