Sheboygan County and its City and Metro Areas remain near historically low unemployment according to data released on Wednesday by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
Seasonally adjusted figures indicate a loss of 200 jobs since June in the Sheboygan Metro Area. Still, July’s workforce of 62,400 was 600 more than a year ago.
As for Unemployment, the preliminary unadjusted rate for the Sheboygan Metro Area in July was 2.7%, down from 3% in June and fractionally above that of last year.
The City of Sheboygan saw 2.9% unemployment during July,, also down point-three percent from June, and a rate equal to that of 2022, and we were tied with five other cities for the 6th lowest in the state.
Sheboygan County was tied with Dodge, LaCrosse and Vernon Counties with the 11th lowest July unemployment rate of 2.7%, down from 3% in June and just a tenth of a percent higher than last year.
Statewide, all 12 Wisconsin metro areas saw declines in unemployment month-over-moth, while monthly declines were seen in the vast majority of cities and counties as well.
