MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– While test result numbers are down on Sunday, the percentage in positive COVID-19 test results has increased.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, a total of 8,089 test results were gathered on Sunday, which is a down from Saturday’s 12,424 total results.
Positive test results on Sunday are also down as there are 830 new positive test results being reported by the DHS. On Saturday, there was a record-breaking total of 978 new COVID-19 cases.
The percentage in positive cases has continued to rise as 10.3% of Sunday’s test results were positive. On Saturday 7.9% of the total test results were positive.
Just one new death is being reported by the DHS on Sunday, with the death toll now at 844 in the state.
Since the pandemic began there have been a total of 773,217 people tested, 42,315 positive cases, and 730,902 negative test results.
There have been a total of 32,628 recoveries in Wisconsin and 8,838 active cases.
State hospitals are reporting that 2,743 of the 11,401 hospital beds are immediately available.
There are 339 COVID-19 patients seeking hospital care, 24 more than Saturday. 99 of those patients are in intensive care units, which is ten more patients than what was reported on Saturday.
The state has a supply of 1,272 ventilators with 289 in use.
