Lorenz “Larry” K. Marcus Sr., 79, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully after a courageous
battle with cancer, with his wife by his side, on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Progressive Care
Center. He was born April 30, 1944 in Sheboygan to the late Henry and Annette (Rieboldt)
Marcus. Larry attended Sheboygan South High School and proudly went on to serve in the US
Navy serving in the Vietnam War and being a purple heart recipient. Larry further served with
the Army Reserves and National Guard retiring after 25 years of service.
On August 20, 1971 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Lola Gene Morgan in Reno,
NV. Together they celebrated 52 years.
Larry worked for the Kohler Company for 34 years retiring in 2006.
Larry was a true gearhead, you could always find him in his garage working on cars,
snowblowers, or any other project he had. He loved cars and enjoyed collecting both a variety
of cars and trucks. His family was his pride and joy. Larry enjoyed taking family trips in the RV,
going hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren creating many lasting memories. Larry
was also an avid 49ers fan. On Sundays, you could find him watching the games and making
sure the Packers weren’t winning.
He is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Lola Gene, son Lorenz “Larry” K. (Becky) Marcus Jr.,
daughter Lori (Gary Jr.) Stolper, grandchildren; Emily (Kurtis) Marcus, Hanna Stolper, Abigail
Marcus, Theodore Marcus, and Tyler Stolper, sister Maris (Gene) Gumtow, brothers-in-law
Buddy, Marty, Pat and Jeff Morgan, and sister-in-law Judy Phemester. Larry is further survived
by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents, in-laws Eugene and Lola Morgan, sister Sandra Booth, and brothers-in-law Darrell and
Frank Morgan.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Zimmer Westview
Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan. Burial with Military Honors
will follow at Sunrise Memorial Garden. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on
Monday, August 21, 2023 from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME. If
you are unable to join the family for the service, it will be livestreamed on Larry’s obituary page
on the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center or Sharon S.
Richardson Community Hospice in Larry’s name.
