SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) – 4.3% of test results received in Sheboygan County since Wednesday were positive for COVID-19, and another 221 tested negative according to the daily report Thursday from the Sheboygan County Division of Health Services. That means a 4.3% positive return rate here, a hefty drop from Wednesday’s reported 14%. With four persons recovering, active cases now number 160, and two are hospitalized. Sheboygan County’s total of confirmed COVID-19 cases is now 368.
Wisconsin added another 900 to raise the total to 39,627. The 900 were 6.3% of all test results received since Wednesday, a total of 14,271, marking the 2nd highest single-day total of tests returned. Hospitalizations in the state rose by 45, resulting in roughly 10% of all who’ve come down with the virus needing such care. And not all survive, as 4 more deaths raised that toll to 831.
As for the weekly county Facility-Wide Investigation Report released Thursday, two skilled nursing, long-term care facilities – Sheboygan Progressive Health Services and the Pine Haven’s Giddings Avenue (Sheboygan Falls) Campus are hosting active investigations. The National Guard will be at Pine Haven on Friday to conduct its second round of testing there this week – the first was on Monday.
Five other facilities have active investigations, identified only by their categories. Four of those are non-healthcare workplaces, and one is a setting such as an adult or child day care center, restaurant, event space or religious setting.
