Edward J. Schultz, age 87, of Sheboygan, passed away on July 21, 2023. Edward was born on November 9, 1935, in Sheboygan, to the late Martin F. and Ruth A. Schultz. He graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1954.
On September 5, 1959, he married Betty J. Krum of Sheboygan at First Congregational Church, Sheboygan. They resided in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death in 1985. He married Carol E. Schultz of Madison, Wisconsin, on March 5, 1988, at First Congregational Church. He was employed by Schultz Sav-0 Stores for 40 years, and during that time he spent 2 years in the Army of which 18 months were in Germany. He retired from the Schultz Co. in 1995.
After he retired, Edward was involved in volunteering with First Congregational Church, Bookworm Gardens, Meals on Wheels as a deliverer, and helping in his neighborhood. He enjoyed traveling with Carol to various countries in the world and the United States, especially Las Vegas and Florida. Edward was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, being a season ticket holder since 1957 and missed few games at the stadium and traveled to many out-of-town games including two Super Bowls.
Ed was a Webelos leader, avid fisherman and hunter and also a golfer. He was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church, Sheboygan, acting as Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee for many years.
Edward is survived by his wife, Carol; his sons, Michael and Steve (Evie Ballard), both of Sheboygan Falls, and daughter Julie Schultz of Chicago, Carol’s 4 children, Laurence (Karen) Schultz, Middleton, WI; Carla Klein, Sarasota, Fl.; Sandra Mills (Frank), Ft. Atkinson, WI; David (Kim) Schultz of Phoenix, AZ; her 8 grandchildren, and 6 great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother James M. Schultz of Sheboygan.
A memorial service for Ed will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 310 Bluff Avenue, Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
