A 45-year-old West Bend man is facing felony charges that allege that he hid a camera beneath a sink in a bathroom at Froedtert Hospital – West Bend.
The suspect, who was a support staff employee, admitted to having placed the camera inside the same bathroom for the past several months and then saving some of what the camera captured. Although the bathroom is public, it’s used mostly by staff.
At a bail hearing on Monday afternoon Judge Ryan Hetzel found probable cause and set a $50,000 cash bond for the suspect, who has yet to be named, as the state was given more time to file formal criminal charges.
In Wisconsin, it’s a felony to capture an image depicting nudity without the person’s consent, and investigators expect that a significant number of felony charges will eventually be requested once all materials are reviewed and all possible victims identified.
