Robert J. Fischer, age 76, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 7, 2023 at the
Aurora Medical Center of Sheboygan County.
Bob was born on February 7, 1947, in Sheboygan, a son to the late Robert E. and Margaret (Prisland)
Fischer. He attended Kohler schools. On May 25, 1968, he was united in marriage to Mardel Roehrborn
at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler. Bob was a journeyman millwright and worked for
various companies, retiring from Tecumseh in New Holstein.
Bob was active with the Sheboygan County Historical Museum where he volunteered as Santa and
helped with creating the parts for the kid craft for Holiday Memories. Bob was a woodworker and
gardener. He enjoyed reading and camping but most of all enjoyed the time spent with his
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Kohler.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mardel; his four children, Sally Knoll (fiancé Robert DeNamur) of Green Bay,
Marie (Chris) Schickowski of Green Bay, Ted (Brenda) Fischer of Phoenix, AZ and Bradley Fischer of
Sheboygan Falls; six grandchildren, Ethan and Tegan Schickowski, Reece Knoll and Caitlyn, Sabrina and
Marissa Fischer; three great grandchildren, Jayden, Atticus and Evelyn; two sisters, Mary (Dan) Turvey of
Marquette, MI and Margaret Applebaum of Kennesaw, GA and a sister-in-law, Mary Fischer of
California. Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends further survive. Along with his parents he
was preceded in death by a brother, James Fischer, a brother-in-law, Jerry Applebaum a son-in-law,
Travis Knoll and his mother and father-in-law, Milford and Vyleta Roehrborn.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, July 15 at St. John
Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Jonathon Schmekel as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Greendale
Cemetery, Sheboygan. Family and friends may visit with the family at the church, 601 Valley Road,
Kohler on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.
Memorials in his name are preferred.
