Kay (Mahloch) Scheibl, 55 of Kiel, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday, July 6th
morning. She is now reunited with her soulmate David after almost 3 years.
Kay Ellen was born to Allen and Luella (Meyer) Mahloch April 28th, 1968, in
Manitowoc, WI. She attended Valder’s High School and graduated 1986. She married her first
husband, Dean Konik, moved to Sheboygan, and had children. Kay took on many roles
throughout her life. She ran a brain injury support group, her own cleaning business, went to
school for massage therapy and started “Essential Hands Therapy,” and worked at assisted living
as an RA. In 2012, she went back to school and achieved her LTC degree in “Business
Management” and proceeded to work as an Office Manager/HR for a few companies, most
recently, Pathways for Better Living.
Circa 2006 Kay joined the Howards Grove Fire Department as a first responder. This is
where she met Dave and they began dating around 2009. On 11/11/11 they purchased a house on
Wilke lake where they planned to spend their lives and retirement together. They married on the
lake October 5th, 2013.
Kay enjoyed gardening, holistic self-care, DIY, and most of all spending time with her
friends and family on the lake. She had an intense love for chocolate, especially with salty
combinations, drinking wine with her best friends, and doting on her “fur-grandchildren.” She
was incredibly hardworking and did whatever she had to provide for her children growing up,
even if it meant listening to us vent for hours. She was kind hearted, supportive, and accepted
everyone as they were. She was known to many people as a “second mom,” as she welcomed
anyone we brought home with open arms. Most recently she had taken up interests in travel and
fostering dogs for White Paws German Shepherd Rescue. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother,
a grandmother, a wife, and a friend to many.
Kay is preceded in death by her husband David Michael Scheibl, her brother Leon, her
parents, Allen and Luella, her nephew Kurt Evenson, and her in-laws, Marvin and Shirley
Scheibl.
Kay leaves behind her 4 children, Richard Konik, Jacquelyn (Morrigan Franklin), Tabitha
(Peter Roden), and James (MacKenzie) Konik, 2 grandchildren Graham Franklin and James Jr.
(JJ), her 4 sisters, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
.
The family requests privacy at this time while they try to process this heartbreak. The
family would also like to thank Tammy & Dewey Grunewald for always being there for Kay in
life and after death.
