The person killed in a 4th of July hit-and-run accident in the Town of Sheboygan has been identified. He was 74-year-old Jan Richmond of Sheboygan, who was correctly walking against traffic on the shoulder of the road in the 2800 block of Enterprise Drive at around 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office reports that Richmond was struck from behind by a minivan driven by a still unidentified 37-year-old Sheboygan man. That person fled the scene but was later arrested and is in custody. The accident remains under investigation, and the suspect’s identity will be known once formal charges are issued by the District Attorney’s Office.
