PITTSBURGH, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers edged the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-3 on Sunday to win the weekend series.
Colin Rea earned the win after surrendering two runs on five hits over six-plus innings.
William Contreras blasted a three-run homer for the Crew while Devin Williams earned his 17th save of the season.
Rich Hill took the loss for the Pirates after giving up three runs over five innings. Nick Gonzales crushed a two-run homer for Pittsburgh, which fell to 39-44. The Pirates are in third place in the NL Central.
Milwaukee took two-of-three games and is now tied with the Reds for first place in the NL Central at 45-39.
The Brewers head back home to open a four-game set with the Cubs begining Monday afternoon.
