MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Gang warfare may be at the root of the post-Juneteenth celebration shooting in Milwaukee.
Prosecutors say the incident may stem from a “deadly shooting war” between two loosely organized gangs.
A charging document says a fight between the two groups was broken up by deputies at a north side park where the celebration happened, but it spilled over half a block away, where the shooting took place.
Six teens were struck by the gunfire, all of them surviving.
A 15-year-old boy is now facing charges in juvenile court in connection to the incident.
