MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Governor Tony Evers responds to Monday’s shooting which marred Milwaukee’s Juneteenth celebration.
“When I heard it was young kids – it’s the idea that somehow settling beefs between groups of people or a handful of people with guns is just – it’s heartbreaking,” said Governor Evers.
The governor said parents and adult members of the community need to do better, and that guns need to be stored safely.
Milwaukee Police said four females and two males ages 14 to 19 were injured by gunfire following an argument.
A 17-year-old male believed to be the shooter was among the wounded.
