Roland H. “Rolly” Schnaitmann
age 91 of Sheboygan passed away Monday, December 25, 2017 at Morningside Health
Center.
Born January 27, 1926
in Sheboygan to Adolph and Pauline (Schook) Schnaitmann, Roland graduated from
Sheboygan Central High School in 1944. He then enlisted in the Navy serving in
the South Pacific during World War II. He served in various positions in the
plastics industry, as a locksmith and typewriter repairmen and then became a
letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. On November 6, 1998 he was united
in marriage to Nona Lee Huebner in Sheboygan.
He loved traveling,
working cross word puzzles, playing his harmonica, and he was a member of the
Last Man Standing for the U.S.S. Herbert J. Thomas.
Roland is survived by
his wife, Nona Lee, a daughter Karen DiPerna of Massachusetts, a granddaughter,
Cara DiPerna, a step son, David (Margaret) Behlow, four step
grandchildren, three step great
grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and two sisters, Elsie Lieske and Helene Hollenbeck.
A memorial service for
Roland will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Olson Funeral
Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Ave., Sheboygan. Family and friends
may call at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in
his name.
