Julie L. Van Akkeren
Kummerow, 41, of Kohler, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 26,
2017.
Julie was born March 11,
1976 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Larry and Victoria (nee Gerk) Van Akkeren.
On July 15, 2004, she was united in marriage with Ryan Kummerow in Hawaii.
Julie owned and ran Sheboygan Scrap Metal alongside her father Larry, and
enjoyed keeping an eye on him.
Julie cherished time spent
outdoors and enjoyed hunting, gardening, hiking, canoeing, bonfires, fireworks
and flowers. She loved animals, reading, making candles and playing softball. Spending
time with her family and friends was her greatest joy. She had a generous soul
and a heart of gold, and would help any person or animal in need.
Julie is survived by her
husband Ryan and three children: Jennifer Kasper of OH and Samuel Niemi and
Brooklyn Kummerow, both at home. She is further survived by her parents Larry
and Victoria Van Akkeren of FL, sister Lisa (Dan) Reinke of Sheboygan,
grandmother Gloria Gerk of Sheboygan, mother-in-law Joan Bohn of Sheboygan,
father-in-law Gary (Karen) Kummerow of
Elkhart Lake, sisters-in-law Rebecca Kummerow of Sheboygan Falls and Kristin
Kummerow of Sheboygan, step-brothers-in-law Cody Bohn of Sheboygan Falls and
Adam Roethel of Sheboygan, nephews and niece: Dylan Kummerow and Jacob and
Megan Jensen, other relatives and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death
by her grandparents: Donald Gerk and Marvin and Carolyn Van Akkeren and uncle
Dean Gerk.
Funeral Services will be
held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and
Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8
th
St. in Sheboygan. The family will
receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
