Laura Leona Schwaller, age 97 of Sheboygan passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Sheboygan Health Services surrounded by her family.
Laura was born October 25, 1920 in Cazenovia, WI to Charles and Edith (Petersen) Luxton. On April 15, 1941 she was united in marriage to Lando J. Schwaller at St. John the Baptist Church in Plymouth. She was a lifetime member of the Mapledale Homemakers, St. Anne Society, a volunteer at Sunny Ridge, Sons of Norway and the American Red Cross. Family meant everything to Laura. She enjoyed, Gardening, Sewing, Canning & Baking – she was known as the “Pie Lady” in the neighborhood. She loved the cottage and fishing at Kelly Lake.
Laura is survived by her daughter Sharon (Dennis) Guetschow, A son Rodney (Cindy) Schwaller, a daughter in law, Gail Schwaller; 7 grandchildren, Rick (Lori) Guetschow, Steven (Susan) Guetschow, Dawn Guetschow, Jason (fiance Becky Schleicher) Schwaller, Kim (Jason) Ecclestone, Kayla (Eric) Reinholz and Kendra (fiance Nic Lorenz) Schwaller. 7 great grandchildren; Tyler (Jenn) Guetschow, Teal Guetschow, Daniel Luenzmann, Michael Guetschow, Grace Schwaller, Kaylee Reinholz and Trent Reinholz. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Terrance Schwaller, a great grandson, Brandon Schwaller, her brothers, Eddie (Clare) Luxton, Garold (Viola) Luxton, Lawrence (Eleanor) Luxton and Roland (Maggie) Luxton; her sisters, Carol (Harold) Tennant, Charlotte (John) Connors and Lois (Hubert) Jaech; her brothers in law Omar (Garnett) Schwaller and Merlin (Dorothy) Schwaller, and a sister in law, Lauretta (Ray) Schoemer.
Visitation for Laura will be held on Sunday February 11, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service,
1132 Superior Ave., Sheboygan
. Visitation will continue on Monday, February 12 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass, 11:00 A.M.at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church,
818 Huron Ave., Sheboygan
. Fr. Matthew Widder will celebrate the Mass. Private entombment will take place at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
Laura's family would like to thank Jeanne & Jake Rockweiler for their special visits with Laura and the nurses and staff of Golden Living (Sheboygan Health Services) for their loving care and support. Also for her special friend at the nursing home Chris Z “Pete”.
The Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Service has been entrusted with Laura's arrangements.
