Daniel Clarence Koelpin, of Sheboygan, passed away early
Tuesday morning, March 6, 2018 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. He was 79 years old.
Dan was born February 19, 1939 in Sheboygan, the son of Clarence and Edith (nee Meyer) Koelpin. He graduated from Central High School in 1957. He went on to work at Warehouse Sales in Sheboygan, and later Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and St. Mark Lutheran Church. He retired in 2009.
On June 26, 1999, he was united in marriage with Karen Lunning (nee Gabrielse) at Zion UCC.
Dan was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, the Sheboygan Elks Lodge #299 where he served as Chaplain, the 99 Club as well as the Lone Indians. He had enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, yardwork, computers, spending time with his dogs, motorcycle rides, and later scooter rides.
Dan is survived by his wife Karen and his children: David (Sandy) Koelpin of West Bend, Mark Koelpin of Elkhart Lake and Kris (Brooks) Hesselink of Sheboygan. He is further survived by his step-son Mike Smith, grandchildren: Justin, Alex, Evan and Wade Hesselink, brother Dale Koelpin of Sheboygan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1019 N. 7
th
St. in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested.
