Viola “Vi” Zajkowski, 103, of Sheboygan, passed away
Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Sheboygan Senior Community. Vi was born April 26, 1914, in Sheboygan, to
the late Henry and Caroline (Trimberger) Stahl.
She attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheboygan High
School. On August 31, 1938, she married
Konstant “Konnie” Zajkowski at Holy Name Church. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1988.
Vi was employed in the office of the H.C. Prange Co. and
retired from clerical work in the Sheboygan Police Department. She was a member of St. Clement Church and
was active in it’s Altar Society. She
was a member of the former Friendly Visitors, Catholic Women’s Charity Club,
Catholic Order of Foresters and was a volunteer at the Sheboygan Retirement
Home and Meadowview Nursing Home. Vi was also a Den Mother for her sons. She enjoyed cooking and was especially known
for her schaum tortes.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary C. Turk, Sheboygan; two
sons, James (Susan), New Richmond and Edward (Susan), Sheboygan; eight
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one brother, Augie Stahl.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in
death by one son, Thomas (Roselind) Zajkowski, two sisters, Sister Carolyn
Stahl, S.S.N.D and Caroline (Rudy) Aulik-Keller and one brother, Michael Stahl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday,
March 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church (707 N. 6th St.,
Sheboygan) with Rev. Matthew Widder as celebrant. Friends may call on Monday, at the church,
from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the Mass.
