On June 3 rd , 2023, Joanne Hintz, my beloved wife, age 88, left this earthy realm to be with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ in God’s heavenly Kingdom reserved for all his saints. She was my soulmate for 65
years.
It is with the deepest remorse that I pen these words. She has always been the guiding light and
steadfast rudder of our long covenant of love. She bore our four inestimable bundles of love and joy for
our remaining years on this planet. She has been the most precious gift that God has given me and He
has given me many.
As a senior in high school at Plymouth, she was recommended and chosen to become secretary to then
Principal, John Richards, where she remained for several years. It was then that I entered her life, and
we later became one at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plymouth on April 12, 1958.
After working for Drs. Steffen and Wiesse at the Plymouth Clinic for several years she became a mother
and wife for the remainder of her life. She also drove school bus for Kvindlog’s Bus Service, worked at
Gilson, and was the other half of ROJO Trucking for ten years.
One memorable achievement she accomplished was that she is the only and will always be the only
woman elected to serve as the Clerk for the Village of Waldo, serving for eight years.
She was involved in 4H, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and many women’s groups at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church in Cascade where she was an active member for many years.
She will be gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace my beloved.
Joanne is survived by: Her husband, Roger; Children: Tim, Jon, and David Hintz, and Amy (Michael)
Mahoney; Grandchildren: Sam and Hannah Mahoney, Ryan, Brandon, and Adam Hintz; Sister-in-law,
Shirley Meves; As well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Emma and William Aschenbrenner; Brother, William; Father
and Mother-in-law, Norbert and Viola Hintz; Brothers-in-law: Norbert and Gerald Hintz; Sisters-in-law:
Faye Jacoby and Sandra Hintz.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday (June 9, 2023) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. Visitation
will take place from 11:00am – 1:00pm, with a service to follow at 1:00pm. Rev. Richard Bidinger will
officiate and burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Cascade.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Joanne’s name for St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery and

The family would like to send special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Sharon Richardson,
especially Bre and Nancy, for their wonderful care and compassion given to Joanne.
