Carlton Robert “Bob” Gieseke, 65, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday morning, June 4, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton with his middle son by his side.
Born September 14, 1957 in Sheboygan, Carlton was a son of the late Joyce Groenke Gieseke. He attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1975. He continued his education at Lakeshore Technical Institute with a degree as an electrical journeyman. On June 2, 1990, he was united in marriage to Elke M. Guth at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
Carlton worked for 35 years for K.W. Muth/Lear until 2010. He then worked for Alaark Tooling and Automation from 2011 to 2019 when he started at Wisconsin Plastics. He was a lifetime member of First United Lutheran Church. He served as the president of the Sheboygan UAW Local 2376. He was an avid racing fan, especially Formula 1 and sprint cars which he built. His greatest passion was motorcycles where he instilled his love of racing to his children. He loved taking the family to Road America, riding his Ducati 999 and belonged to the Wisconsin Desmo Owners Club.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elke; his children, Eric Gieseke, Baraboo, Alex (Clara Lehner) Gieseke, Hopkins, MN, and Carley Jo (Riley) Mueller, Waupaca; one grandchild due in November which made him proud to be an Opa; his sisters, Suzanne Haley, CA and Kathy (Tom) Renzelmann, Sheboygan; his in-laws, Erika (Neal) Degner, Germantown, Manfred (Marivic Burdett) Guth, San Jose, CA, and Gerhard (Jill) Guth, Minneapolis, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce; his mother and father-in-law, Eva and Erich Guth and his brother-in-law, Bob Haley.
A memorial service for Carlton will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 12, 2023 at First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Drive, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. A reception will take place immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan and Grafton, Dr. Robert Remington and Dr. Doug Fehrman and staff as well as Sheboygan Senior Community for all of their loving care and support.
