Michael
“Mike” Gordy, age 70, of Plymouth, WI, entered eternal life on Tuesday (April
3, 2018).
I
prepared this obituary in hopes it would never have to be used, but alas, all
good things must end. To quote Mickey Mantle “If I knew I was going to live
this long, I would have taken better care of myself”. I was fortunate in life
to have a loving and fabulous wife, a terrific family, great friends, and our
Lord Jesus Christ. I’ll keep this short and sweet as Joe Friday from Dragnet
said “Just the facts ma’am”.
Mike
entered this world at 9lbs. 9oz. on October 17, 1947, in Ft. Pierce, FL, a son
of the late Karlton L. and Harriet K. (Moore) Gordy.
He
received a Bachelor of Science Degree at Florida Atlantic University in Boca
Raton, FL.
On
September 16, 1994 he married his best friend and love of his life, Deborah
Schmidt-Wirtz.
Mike
was employed at Sargento Foods in Plymouth for 32 years and he thanks the
Gentine family for their wonderful support and most importantly their patience.
He retired as President of Sargento’s Food Ingredient Division and was awarded
Leonard A. Gentine Founders Ring.
Mike
served as the past President of the International Dairy Deli Bakery
Association.
He
enjoyed fishing, wood working and reading.
He
is survived by his wife and best friend: Deborah Gordy of Plymouth; Children:
Steven M. (Georgina) Gordy of Costa Rica, Bethany L. Gordy of Madison, WI. Step
