Everett E. Arndt, age 96, of Plymouth, passed away Early
Monday afternoon (May 21, 2018) at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake where he
had been a resident for the last 2 1/2 years.
He was born on November 12,
1921 in Random Lake, WI, a son of the late Fred W. and Mary Braun Arndt.
Everett attended Random Lake
Grade School and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1940.
On November 22, 1941, he
married Irmgard S. Bohlmann at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center, WI. The
couple lived in the Random Lake Area after their marriage until moving to
Plymouth in 1994.
He was employed at the West
Bend Aluminum Company from 1942 – 1944.
Everett entered the U.S. Navy
in 1944. After boot camp and
Radar
School,
he was assigned to serve aboard the USS Riverside (APA-102) in the Pacific
Theatre during World War II. He was discharged in 1946, a Radarman 3
rd
Class USNR.
He was employed at Krier
Preserving Company and the Harnishfeger Corp. until 1951. He then worked at
Badger Tag and Label Corp until retiring in 1983. His wife preceded him in
death on February 19, 2018.
Everett enjoyed fishing,
traveling, lawn and gardening. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in
Sherman Center, where he served on the Church Council for over 20 years and
served as the chairman of the congregation.
Survivors include: Two
daughters: Carole (Gary) Glidden of Glen Falls, New York and Kathleen (Sergio)
Serna Homosassa Springs, FL; One son: Gerald (Janet) Arndt of Denver, Colorado;
Five grandsons: Matthew (Kimberly) Glidden of Baldwinsville, NY, Keith
(Margaret) Glidden of South Hamilton, MA, Pablo (Christine) Serna of Appleton,
WI, Mario (Melissa) Serna of Sheboygan, WI, and Ryan (Alex) Arndt of Sacramento,
CA; Eight great grandchildren: Maria, Marisa, Maya, Maranda, Finn, Grace,
Nathan, and Morgan; and One brother-in-law: Gerhard (Elaine) Bohlmann.
He is also survived by
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by
his wife, three brothers Melvin Arndt, Erwin (Ilma) Arndt, and Vernon (Marcy)
Arndt of Random Lake and two brother-in-law’s: Walter and
David Bohlmann.
Funeral Services will be held
on Saturday (May 26, 2018) at 11:00 A.M. at St. John
Lutheran
Church in
Sherman
Center. Rev. Peter Peitsch, Pastor of Grace Lutheran
Church in Elkhart Lake will officiate.
Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call at the
CHURCH on Saturday (May 26) from 10:00 A.M until the
time of services.
The VFW Plymouth World Cheese
Center Post # 5612 will conduct Military rites at the Cemetery immediately
following the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials
can be made to St. John Lutheran Church Debt Retirement Fund.
