John Robert Stoneman, age 71, of Cascade, passed away
unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, June 5, 2018.
He was born on July 21, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the
late Robert G. and Beatrice (Cormican) Stoneman.
John graduated from Brown Deer High School in 1964. Following high school, he attended
UW-Whitewater for a short time before joining the Army. John served in the United States Army where
he was stationed in Germany from July 1967 to July 1970. Following active duty, he was in the Army
Reserve until 1973. John was a member of
the Ambelang-Ebelt-Lau Cascade American Legion Post 386.
After his service, John received his Bachelor of Science
Degree in Parks and Recreation from the University of Northern Colorado.
In 1975, he married Judy Monk at the United Methodist Church
in Castle Rock, Colorado. The couple
resided in Milwaukee, before settling in Cascade.
John was a member of the BMW motorcycle club and had a true
love for riding his motorcycle. He also
loved spending time with his loving family and playing with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: His wife: Judy of Cascade; Daughter: Jen
(Karl) Gross of Howards Grove; Granddaughters: Ashley and Hailey; Brothers:
Robert M. Stoneman of Fond du Lac and Douglas Stoneman of Cascade;
Sisters-in-law: Karen (Richard) Moos of TX and Jeanne (Jim) Kusterer of ID; and
Nephew: Robert P. Stoneman of Fond du Lac.
He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother,
David.
Following John’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday (June 14, 2018)
at 12 Noon at Trinity United Methodist Church, 425 Lyndon St., Waldo, WI. Pastor Denise Kwiatkowski will officiate.
Visitation will take place at CHURCH on Thursday (June 14)
from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at Noon. The A.E.L. Cascade American Legion Post 386
will conduct military rites following the services at Church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in
John’s name.
