Delores Alma (nee Perronne) Voss passed away peacefully at her home on May 27, 2023. Delores was born in the Town of Herman on July 12, 1928 to the late Martin and Ida (Schmerling) Perronne. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, just down the road from the family homestead.
She was united in marriage to Nelson Charles Frank Voss on May 3, 1947 in the parsonage of Trinity Church, Howards Grove. After their marriage, Nelson and Delores lived in Newton and Howards Grove. They moved to Sheboygan in 1956. They were blessed with four children. Nelson preceded her in death on July 15, 1992.
Delores worked at Larsen Plywood and retired from Mayline Company in 1990. She loved spending time with her family, taking bus trips, polka dancing, and playing cards. She was a wonderful cook and baker and her guests never left the table hungry! Her kitchen motto was “No matter where I serve my guests, they seem to like my kitchen best!”
Delores is survived by her children: Dale (Nancy) Voss, Barbara (Steven Ugoretz) Voss, Debbra Voss, and Mark (Karel) Voss; her four grandsons: Alexander (Alyssa) Ugoretz, Jonathan Voss, Heath (Cameron) Bain, and Timothy (Caroline Cooney) Voss; and her precious great-granddaughter: Ari Ugoretz. She is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Geraldine Kreidler, Judith Hitsman, Julie (John) Heath, Alan Perronne, Jennifer (Anthony) Kober, Joseph (Samantha) Reglin, Joyce Swanson, Gary (Judy) Voss, Judy (Earl) Klein, Lee (Carolina) Voss; dear friends, Maria Tittyung and Cathey Kasper; plus other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson; her parents, Martin and Ida Perronne; four brothers: Elmer (Verona) Perronne, Edward Perronne, LeRoy Perronne, Milton Perronne; two sisters: Evelyn (Paul) Reglin and Ardelle Perronne; her godson, Jeffrey Reglin; her in-laws: Stanley and Lillian Voss; sister and brother-in-law: Bernetta (Lewis) Eichmann and Marlin (JoAnn) Voss. She was also preceded in death by two nieces, six nephews, and her best friends, Arline Jost, Caroline Ney and Janet Grunewald.
The Voss family would like to thank the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, especially Mary Ann and Chris for their exceptional care and the comfort they provided during her last days.
A funeral service will be held for Delores on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1810 North 13 Street, Sheboygan with the Rev. Alan Kretschmar officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Kohler Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sheboygan.
