James D. “Jim” Halada Sr., age 77, of Manitowoc, passed away
peacefully on July 21, 2018, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in
Sheboygan Falls.
He was born in Manitowoc on December 29, 1940, son of Ruby
(Peterson) and the late Donald Halada.
Jim graduated from Mishicot High School in 1958. Following High School, he joined the United
States Army, serving our country in Vietnam.
He worked for many years at Power’s Tire & Auto in
Manitowoc until his retirement.
Jim loved to go fishing and deer hunting with his
family. He also loved dogs, having a pet
dog for most of his life.
Survivors include: Seven children: Barbara (Scott) Lynch,
Isabella (Vince) Albanese, James Jr. (Kim) Halada, John (Teri) Markham, Bill
(Gail) Halada, Greg Markham, and Rick (Jacy) Halada; Grandchildren: Tim (Kim)
Halada, Trent (Bridgette) Brooke, Tristina Lynch, Tony Lynch, Austin Herbst,
Sebastian Herbst, Taylor Markham, Alicia (Ronnie) Fielder, Jaden Halada,
Kerrigan Halada, Morgan Swetlik, David Schroeder, Kayla Schroeder, Mikenzie
Hammel, Lexi Hammel, and Ether Waskow; 10 Great-grandchildren; Mother: Ruby
Halada; Sisters: Cris O’Connell and Margaret (Steve) Ricard; Brothers: Tony
(Lisa) Halada and Larry (Deb) Halada; and Sister-in-law: Cindy Halada.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by: The love of his life: Shirley;
Father: Donald; Daughter: Dawn; Grandson: Jonathon; and Brothers: Bill and
Jerry.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday (July 27, 2018) at
the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 4:00 –
6:00 P.M. with a prayer service and military rites beginning at 6:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in
Jim’s name.
