Fred J. Dekanich, 55, of Sheboygan passed away on July 27,
2018 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice after a short battle with lung
cancer. Fred was employed for many years
by Dick Nelesen Furniture and Bedding Company, owner of Furniture Outlet and
most recently assistant manager at Big Lots.
He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting, trap shooting, and
fishing. Fred’s biggest passion was auto
racing with team 60 Anderson Racing and being pit crew chief. He will be remembered for his big heart and
jolly disposition. Many people were
touched by Fred’s giving and friendly nature during his many years in retail.
Loving husband of Nicole, dear brother of Betsy Carolfi (Don
Stephenson), Luke (Janice) Dekanich, Herbert Suchalla, and Eileen Dekanich. Dear
uncle of Missy (Kirby) Griese, Mike Suchalla, Ben (Liz) Dekanich, and Jennifer
(Greg) Rothe. He will also be missed by
his brothers- and sisters-in-law. Preceded
in death by his parents, Lucas and Delores, Sister Dianne Suchalla, Brother
Robert, and father- and mother-in-law John and Barbara Darmek.
He will be greatly missed by his furry felines Flower, Max
and Sammy. Fred was reunited with
Snuggles, Tigger, Tabby and Buster.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018
at 7:00 p.m. at Zimmer’s Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42
& JJ, Howards Grove) with Kim Anderson officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral
home, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
