Frances C. Schmidt, age 84, died on Wednesday, August 1,
2018 at Sheboygan Progressive Health Services.
Fran was born in Kewaunee, WI on March 23, 1934, the
daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Schleis) Musil.
Fran graduated from Holy Rosary Grade School and Kewaunee
High School. After graduation, Fran was employed by The Frank Hamachek Machine
Company as a secretary for 7 ½ years. Fran moved to Sheboygan in 1960 and was
employed by the law offices of Holden and Schlosser.
On November 25, 1960, Fran was united in marriage to Donald
L. Schmidt in Conover, WI. Donald passed away on July 19, 2005.
Fran was a homemaker and was also employed by Heritage
Mutual Insurance Co. (Acuity) for over 16 years, retiring in 1996.
Fran enjoyed cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers and
Wisconsin Badgers. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, shopping
with Alison, the occasional dice game and baking. She has also made many fond
memories with family traveling.
Fran is survived by three sons, Gregory, Andrew (Jodi), Michael
(Debra) Schmidt, all of Sheboygan; one daughter Denise (James) Krostag of
Oostburg; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Kayleigh, Alex, Joseph and
Thomas Schmidt and Alison Krostag; two sisters-in-law Barbara Musil of North
Attleboro, MA Laura (Del) Carriveau of Sheboygan and Jo Schmidt of Desert Hot
Springs, CA. Other nieces, nephews, family and friends further survive.
Along with her husband Donald, Fran will be joining her
three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ivadell (Dean) Bucholtz, Gloria (Alfred)
Geier, Emaline (Donald) Kempers and Jerry Schmidt; and a brother Nortell Musil
in Heaven.
A Funeral Service for Fran will be held at 12:30 PM on
Monday, August 6, 2018 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center,
1201 N. 8
th
St., Sheb., with Father Matthew Widder officiating. The
family will greet visitors on Monday, at the funeral home, from 10:30 AM until
the time of service at 12:30 PM. Entombment will take place in The Garden
Terrace Mausoleum in the Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in
Fran’s name to The Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.
The family would like to personally thank the staff at both
Sheboygan Progressive Health Services and St. Nicholas Home Health and Hospice
for the phenomenal care given to Frances. Your warmth and compassion will
