Kenneth W. Schuette was born June 12, 1934, to Irene (Biederwolf) and Walter Schuette. He graduated from Central High School in 1952 and served in the Army in Panama from 1957 to 1959.
On June 13, 1959, he married Lila Phipps. They were married 35 years until her death on March 8, 1994. Ken worked at R-Way Furniture and then on his dairy farm most of his life. Later he worked on the maintenance crew of the Old Wade House. On January 12, 2001, he married Judith (Mueller) Steinhaus at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and resided in Sheboygan Falls.
Ken’s kindness and thoughtfulness of others was exemplified in many ways. He was a woodworking project leader with the Spring Valley 4-H club for 40 years and served at Zion Lutheran Church in Glenbeulah. Interests included playing on the Creamers Dart Ball League and being a member of the Plymouth Model Railroad Club. Ken volunteered for Meals on Wheels for eight years.
Survivors include his wife Judie; stepchildren Paul (Lynn) Steinhaus, Sonia (Mark) Ten Pas, Ruth (Kevin) Jansky, and Thomas (Jennifer) Steinhaus. He was a proud and loving grandfather to John, Hannah, Aaron, Marissa, Luke, Lydia, Kambria, Benjamin, Jacob, Ivy, Zachary (Erin), Joshua, Kylie and Kayla and great-grandson Jake. Other survivors include brothers Richard (Sonya) Schuette and Tom (Diane) Schuette; sister Eileen Meyer; sisters-in-law Mary and Lenora Schuette and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lila, brothers Robert and James Schuette; infant siblings Fredrick, Marion and Edith and a brother-in-law Elwood Meyer.
This gracious man's motto for happiness was, “Try to think of others and go to church.”
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church,
1121 Georgia Ave., Sheboygan
with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Greenbush Cemetery.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Sunny Ridge where Ken had been a resident for almost six years.
There will be a memorial fund set up for Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Lutheran High School.
