Richard “Chip” H. Lemkuil, 84, of Oostburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Pine Haven Christian Communities – Pine Drive Campus in Oostburg.
Chip was born on February 14, 1934, in Oostburg, WI to Clarence and Hazel (Theune) Lemkuil. He was a 1952 graduate of Oostburg High School.
On November 29, 1958, Richard married Lenore Lukens. Chip worked in sales at Honald & LaPage for 38 years.
He was a faithful member of First Reformed Church of Oostburg where he served as a dedicated Elder, Deacon, and Usher for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing. Above all, Chip found great joy in spending time with his beloved children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Chip is survived by his two daughters, Lori (Dan) Billmann, Connie (Dave) Schreurs; two sons, Rick (Dixie) Lemkuil, Terry (Peggy) Lemkuil; eight Grandchildren, Kari (Adam) Dykstra, Abby (Brian) Reineking, Steve Schreurs, Michael (Jessica) Schreurs, Shawn Billmann, Scott Billmann, Stephanie Lemkuil, Benjamin Lemkuil; and five Great-Grandchildren, Rylen, Brantley, Tayte, Layken, and Caysen; one sister, Pat Zurmond of Oostburg; one brother-in-law, Ron Hesselink of Oostburg.
Chip was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Lenore Lemkuil; parents, Clarence and Hazel Lemkuil; two sisters, Judy (Chuck) “Putter” Bartelt, LaMae Lemkuil; one brother-in-law, Pete Zurmond; and three sisters-in-law; Marian (Lawrence) Bosman, Arlene (Oscar) Robinson, and Margaret Hesselink.
A memorial service to celebrate Chip's life will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at First Reformed Church of Oostburg at 5:00 p.m. A private inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family at First Reformed Church of Oostburg on Thursday, September 20, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m.
A memorial fund is being established in his name for First Reformed Church of Oostburg and Oostburg Ambulance.
