Caroline M. “Carol” Torke, age 79, formerly of Adell,
passed away Tuesday evening (September 18, 2018) at Cedar Grove Gardens where
she had been a resident for the past 6 years.
She was born on May 24, 1939 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter
of the late Winfred and Hazel (Dekker) Graaskamp.
She graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1957 and
attended medical school in the City of Milwaukee.
On June 27, 1959, she married David Torke in Cedar Grove.
The couple resided in Cedar Grove following their marriage and moved to Adell
in 1965.
She was employed at Citizens Bank in Cedar Grove for a
few years and then was the Elementary and Middle School Librarian for Random
Lake School District for 33 years before retiring in 2003.
Her husband preceded her in death on May 31, 2012.
Caroline was a faithful member of Emmanuel Lutheran
Church in Adell.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping
and doing word searches.
Survivors include her daughter: Sherri (Dan) Uelmen of
Random Lake; Two grandchildren: Dan Uelmen of Random Lake and Samantha Uelmen
of Springfield, MA; Great-grandson: Carson Uelmen of Random Lake; Sister: Judy
Huenink of Sheboygan Falls; and Sister-in-law: Maria Greger of Sheboygan.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: David; Mother
and father-in-law: Walter and Mildred Torke; Sister: Maryan (Bob) Greger; and
Two brothers-in-law: Jim Huenink and Raymond Torke.
Following Caroline’s wishes, cremation has taken place
and a memorial service will be held on Saturday (Sept. 29) at 12:00 Noon at
Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. Rev. Christopher Seifferlein, Pastor of the
church will officiate. Inurnment will be held in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the CHURCH on Saturday (Sept.
29) from 10:00 A.M. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established
in Caroline’s name.
