Milton G. “Bud” Hansen, age 90, formerly of Burlington, WI, passed away October 7 at Rocky Knoll
Health Care Facility in Plymouth, WI where he had been a patient for one month.
He was born January 11, 1928 in Waupaca County to the late Arthur and Irene (Pagel) Hansen. He
attended Waupaca County schools until 8th grade when he was needed to work on the family farm. At
age 18 he joined the US Army and served his country for 18 months at Ft. Lewis, Seattle WA. During his
time in Seattle he met Roma J Hansen and they married on July 30, 1948. They moved back to Wisconsin
after marriage and helped on the family farm for a short time. In 1952 he started his 30 year career at
Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products in West Milwaukee, retiring in 1982 when the company closed.
Although they divorced in 1986, they remained life partners, moving back to Seattle WA, then to
Brookings, OR and back to Wisconsin in 2003. Roma preceded him in death on February 8, 2014.
Milton was a loyal member of the Fraternal Organization of B.P.O. Elks for 30 years, 22 of those years
with Elks Lodge #1934 in Brookings, Oregon.
Milton is the beloved father of 3 sons; Gary (Nancy) Hansen, Gerald “Jary” Hansen, and Denis “Mike”
Hansen and 3 daughters; Cheryl (Gary) Mintner, Lisa (Scott) Keesey and Tracy (Robert) Culver. He also
fostered twins, Kandy and Randy Lilley.
Milton is the very proud Grandpa of 11 grandchildren; Corynn (Ryan) Feldmann, Gary II (Manda)
Mintner, Kristin (Matthew)Collar, Jacob Mintner, Kevin Hansen, Ryan (Destiney) Hansen, Toni (Calloway)
Van Epern, Andrew & Jared Hansen and Brandon & Jacob Keesey.
He also is GG & Bumpa to 9 great grandchildren; Ella & Brody Feldmann, Bradey & Chase Hansen,
Camren Collar, Paxtyn, Layla & Zoey Mintner and Beckham Van Epern.
He is survived by 4 sisters and 1 brother; Alpha Goodman, Mildred Repich, Vivian Huggler, Alice Johnson
and Kenneth (Janet) Hansen. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and good friends
at the Beachview.
He is preceded in death by 1 brother; Leland (Joanne) Hansen and other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-
law, 1 niece and 3 nephews. His fishing buddies, Malcolm Hansen and Clyde Marlowe.
Full Military Honors and Services will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery,
21731 Spring Street, in Union Grove, WI, on Monday (October 15, 2018) at 11:00 AM.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather at the Cemetery on Monday (Oct. 15) at 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bud’s name for the Elks Lodge #1934.
