Richard W. “Irish” Doherty, age 68, of Cascade, WI, passed away on Sunday (October 7, 2018) at his
home.
He was born on October 3, 1950 in Plymouth, WI, a son of Corrinne (nee Hand) and the late David
Doherty.
Richard attended Parnell Grade School and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1968. After High
School he attended UW Oshkosh where he earned his Secondary Education in History.
On October 22, 1976, he married Judith Winter at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cascade.
He worked at Krier Foods in Random Lake for over 30 years.
Richard enjoyed being a leader of the Cascade Cub Scouts Troop 3880 and helping his daughter in 4-H,
showing rabbits and dogs. He also liked gardening, wood working and loved model trains.
Survivors include his wife: Judith; Three children: Scott (Laura) Weber, Duncan Doherty and Kathleen
(Ken) Breit; Five grandchildren: Karissa, Jadon, Riley, Jonathan and Brook; Four brothers: Kevin Doherty,
Dennis (Brenda) Doherty, Timothy Doherty and Steven Doherty; His mother: Corrinne Doherty; One
sister: Lori (Carl) Holzer; Mother-in-law: Kay Winter; and Five brothers and sisters-in-law: Norman
(Dona) Winter, Carol (Wayne) Wedepohl, Daryl (Jeff Hayes) Winter, Sheri (Mark) Bohnhoff and Renee
McKellips.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father: David Doherty; Sister: Pamela Doherty; Father-in-law: Allan
Winter; Sister-in-law: Tammy Doherty; and Brother-in-law: Richard McKellips.
Following Richard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held on Friday
(October 19, 2018) at 5:00 P.M. at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. Richard Bidinger, Pastor of
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade will officiate.
Visitation will be held at Suchon Funeral Home on Friday (Oct. 19) from 4:00 P.M. until the time of
services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established toward the future education of Richard’s
grandchildren.
