Donald Ringel, 87, of Sheboygan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 15,
2018.
He was born on April 14, 1931, a son of the late Frank and Cora (Cevaal) Ringel. Donald attended
Sheboygan Christian School and Sheboygan North High School.
Donald served our country in the 82 nd Army Airborne Division from 1950 to 1953. On August 12, 1955,
he married Audrey Hopeman. He worked for Kohler Company for 39 years in pottery, was a member of
the quarter century club, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church where he
served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and participated in evangelism. Donald was an avid
fisherman and enjoyed woodworking making beautiful intricate clocks and other pieces.
Donald is survived by his three children; Barbara (James) Gabrish of Sheboygan, Sandra (Todd)
Schroeder of Sheboygan, and Rochelle (Dave) Hochhalter from Mount Pleasant. He is also survived by
his grandchildren; Joshua Garbish, Cameron Kress, Lindsey (Chris) Guenther, Holly Kress all of Sheboygan
and Tayler Schroeder of Cleveland, and great-grandchildren; Jasmine Gabrish, Kalei Gabrish, Graysen
Seyferth, Avery Guenther, and Paxton Guenther all of Sheboygan. He is further survived sisters; Corona
“Tony” Bartels, Betty (Frank) Konz, Joyce (Carl) Meggars, and a brother, Kenneth (Kathy) Ringel, three-
sisters-in-law Janice Lohuis, Marlene (Bill) Hoftiezer, and Diane (Mark) Stokdyk , brother-in-law Eugene
Heinen all of Sheboygan county. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife Audrey, great-granddaughter Charlotte
Gabrish, three sisters, Charlotte Ringel, Marian Heinen, Caroline (Joe) Vrubly, brother Richard Ringel,
and brother-in-law Earl Lohuis.
Funeral Services for Donald will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 12:00 NOON at Evangelical
Free Church, 1710 N. 15 th St., Sheboygan, with Rev. Jon MacDonald officiating. Inurnment will take place
at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the
time of service at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Donald’s name.
