Roger W. Gutschow, age 78, of Sheboygan, died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born January 15, 1940 in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, the son of the late Elwood and Mavis (Prochnow) Gutschow.
He graduated from Kiel High School in 1958 and furthered his education in Milwaukee, receiving a degree in Radiologic Technology. Roger was an X-Ray and Ultrasound Technologist and later became the Department Manager at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center; retiring after forty-five years of service. On June 28, 1986 he was united in marriage to Judy TeBeest in Cedar Grove.
He was a current member of Bethany Reformed Church in Sheboygan, the Elks Club and the Town & Country Men’s Golf Club. He enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, golfing and attending the symphony. Roger’s family and friends will always remember him as an outgoing, devoted and deeply compassionate man.
Survivors include his wife, Judy, of Sheboygan; four children, Chris (Annette) Gutschow, Eric (Lolo) Gutschow, both of Texas, Steve (Liz) Gutschow, of California and Heather (Jay) Gabowski, of Sheboygan; a daughter-in-law, Mari Gutschow, of California; eleven grandchildren, Lauren (Mike), Amanda, Nicole, Jimmy, Alex, Jacki, Max, Ellery, Patrick, Matthew (Mindi) and Nathan; one great-granddaughter, Emma Grace; a brother, Jerry (MarJean) Gutschow, of Brussels, WI; and his two sisters, Karen (Bill) Wollersheim, of Texas and Connie (Jim) Kohlbeck, of Whitelaw, WI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Todd Gutschow.
A funeral service for Roger will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethany Reformed Church, 1315 Washington Ave., Sheboygan with Pastor Jon Garbison officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Thursday evening, Nov. 29th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday morning, Nov. 30th, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Roger’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and Rocky Knoll Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for the compassion and care that was given him. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Roger’s name.
