MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — A Madison Democrat says she’ll resign from the Assembly if she gets another position.
Sheila Stubbs has been named to take over Dane County’s Human Services Department. Stubbs has previously said she could do both jobs, for the county and remain in the Assembly, which caused a bit of a backlash.
But on Thursday, Stubbs tweeted that she will resign from the legislature if she’s confirmed as Dane County’s Human Services Director.
The position has a salary of just over 181 thousand dollars a year.
Stubbs’ confirmation still needs approval from a committee and the full county board, which is expected in the coming weeks.
Stubbs was elected to the Assembly in 2018.
