SUN PRAIRIE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Parents and students sounded off during a Monday school board meeting in Sun Prairie.
It follows news about a transgender student showering in the girls locker room last month. Reactions ranged from those who were appalled and others who felt the negative reaction was overblown.
“When in the world would it ever be permissible for someone with male body parts to shower and walk into a shower with 14 year old girls?” said one parent.
“What is the actual problem in the situation other than a trans student existed? That a student of the school undressed in a public locker room?” said another parent.
Several 14 year old girls were exposed to the 18 year old’s genitalia. The school board has issued a statement saying they have taken steps to make sure something similar doesn’t happen again.
