Steven “Gus” M. Bell, 73, of Port Washington, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Sharon
S. Richardson Community Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls with his loving family by his side.
Steve was born in Sheboygan on May 16, 1949, to the late Donald and Lily (Best) Bell. Steve
attended Sheboygan Falls High School and continued his education, later becoming a
Journeyman Lineman. Steve worked for various companies in power distribution including
Sheboygan Falls Utilities, established/ taught the Lineman Program at Moraine Park in Beaver
Dam, Cedarburg Power and Light, and Electrical Consultant Inc.
On September 12, 1970, Steven married Carol Ann Arnoldi at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Sheboygan Falls.
He enjoyed fishing, the great outdoors, telling stories about his past travels and great exploits.
Above all, Steve cherished spending time with those he loved. He was an artful storyteller and a
generous spirit.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Carol Bell of Port Washington; children, Chad Bell of
Mauston, Kristin (Andrew) Althoff of Grafton; grandchildren, Jacob, Maximus, and William
Althoff; sister; Patricia (Joseph III) Richardson; and a sister-in-law, Gail (Mark) Mellinger. He is
further survived by other nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, and brothers-in-law, Ronald Arnoldi
and Steven Nelson.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at St. John XXIII Catholic
Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. WI Street, Port Washington. A visitation will take
place from 12:30 p.m. until the time of mass at 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his name to Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice or St. John XIII Catholic School.
