The National COVID-19 Health Emergency may be over, but the coronavirus is still circulating in Sheboygan County, albeit at a low level.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health on Friday noted that an additional six deaths were attributed to COVID-19 over the past month, raising the toll for the pandemic here to 301. 35,299 cases in all have been logged – having now affected nearly 30% of the County’s population. 42 new cases were added in the last week, and 7 persons were hospitalized for the first time, putting the patient total at 1,472.
Officials are still encouraging people to get tested if they have COVID-19 symptoms and, although the national emergency was officially ended, free tests are still available – 10 per month – for every Wisconsin household by going online to SayYesCovidHomeTest.org. The Federal Government also provides 4 free at-home tests through covid.gov/tests.
