MILWAUKEE, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — Local officials are making the pitch for lawmakers to address Wisconsin’s shared revenue formula.
Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson says shared revenue from the state benefits the city – and the rest of Wisconsin
“As you all know Milwaukee is a economic engine for the state of Wisconsin.” said Johnson. “As we build on the economic strength in Milwaukee the entire state of Wisconsin is able to benefit.”
Johnson was among officials who urged the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee to fix shared revenue, during a budget hearing in Waukesha on Wednesday. Local leaders say diminished state revenue puts local governments in fiscal crisis.
