WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WRN) — Wisconsin utilities are reminding customers to keep their gas meters clear of ice and snow.
We Energies says that as the snow starts to melt off of roofs and refreeze, ice can build up on the meters and make it hard for relief valves to work and leading to gas leaks.
If you do need to clear your meter, be sure to use a broom or your hands and not a shovel, so you don’t damage the meter or the pipes.
