CHICAGO, IL (WHBL) – The Wisconsin Badgers have been eliminated in the opening round game of the Big Ten tournament, losing to Ohio State 65-57 on Wednesday night.
Wisconsin trailed by as many as 27 points, then tried to rally in the second half. They went on a 19-2 run, and held the Buckeyes scoreless for more than 6-minutes. They got within 5 before falling on opening night.
Tyler Wahl led the Badgers with 19 points. Connor Essegian, who was named to the conference all-freshman team earlier this week, added 11.
Ohio State was led by Sean McNeil, who had 17 points.
The loss likely ends any hope for Wisconsin to make the NCAA Tournament, but coach Greg Guard said they will know for sure on Sunday.
