Women working as police officers across Wisconsin have named a member of the Sheboygan Police Department as their Woman Police Officer of the Year. The Wisconsin Association of Women Police has conferred their honor on Sergeant Sara Blodgett of Sheboygan.
According to the Sheboygan Insider, a City of Sheboygan monthly publication, Sergeant Blodgett was nominated for her exemplary leadership as the Sheboygan County MEG Unit Commander, and cited as an outstanding role model, having fostered stronger relationships and teamwork among her team members.
The Wisconsin Association of Women Police was founded in 1983 and works to enhance the professional image and recognition of women in law enforcement and related work. They celebrated their 40th Anniversary this Monday and Tuesday at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake.
